PARAGRAPH

A paragraph is composed of a group of sentences expressing one central idea. It is complete in itself and also a subdivision or part of something larger such as a composition. Paragraphs help to break up large chunks of text and make the content easier for readers to digest. They guide the reader through your argument by focusing on one main idea or goal. However, knowing how to write a good, well-structured paragraph can be little tricky, but the practice could change it all.

There are different types of paragraph that help writers and readers to understand and distinguish the message they want to convey. Some types of paragraph are the following:

• Illustration paragraph
• Narration paragraph
• Description paragraph
• Process paragraph
• Definition paragraph
• Comparison and contrast paragraph
• Classification paragraph
• Cause and effect paragraph 
• Persuasion paragraph.

COLLEGE STUDENT’S PRESSURES

College students face a number of pressures. For instance, many students have to deal with peer pressure. This can be most challenging when students enter to college because fellow classmates and friends around campus can be an enormous influence and interfere with student’s learning process. This can also cause falling courses, loosing of self-esteem, and even worse, giving up to study. Some students also have to manage a job at the same time they take care of their studies; this can be stressful and frustrating. Some others have to face many financial pressures. For example, the majority has to pay college on their own, and it could leave them in debt for a long time. Another example of financial pressure is to support a family while studying. This is extremely difficult, especially when the family is big, and the student is the only person who has a job. Being a college student can be the gateway to success, but it involves dealing with many pressures and difficult circumstances.

MY FAVORITE FAMILY TRIP

One of my favorite family trips was when I went to “La puntilla” beach. I had the opportunity to know the sea, spend time with my family, and feel the sand on my feet and my hands, but most of all enjoy every moment of that special day. I was eight, and this amazing trip was a surprise for me because my family from the United States had come to my house some days before, and I did not know that they had planned this for me. When the day came, we started the trip very early because we wanted to spend a long time in the beach. After that when we were going to the beach we got lost for a while because the driver did not remember the way. Fortunately, some minutes later he recognized the way and we arrived to the beach. The first thing I did was to walk close to the sea and felt the soft sand. Later, I made some sand castles with my father and siblings, and we spent all the day there until the late afternoon. Finally, we came back home and everything was magnificent and unforgettable.

A PLACE I WON’T FORGET

Cerro Verde is a great place to rest and relax. It is a beautiful park with very nice trails, shaded by the most diverse species of plants and trees. Its temperature is pleasant because it is always cool and mist can be seen. Cerro Verde has a wonderful orchid garden and spectacular viewpoints where people can admire the majesty of the volcanoes Izalco and Santa Ana. On the top of the viewpoints people can also appreciate the lake Coatepeque, which is one of the most visited places around El Salvador. It is also an excellent place for bird watching, walking trails, making picnics or just for outdoor games. In the distance a natural landscape and the mist covering the whole place can be seen. Cerro verde is a place where people can breathe fresh air and spend a great time with family or friends. 

PROCESS PARAGRAPH

MY FAVORITE DISH, EASY TO PREPARE

Making chicken breasts stuffed with ham and mozzarella cheese is not a difficult task. Before you get started you will need the following ingredients: nine boneless chicken breasts, half pound of mozzarella cheese, half pound of ham, five envelops of chicken soup, garlic powder, black pepper, oil, margarine, and finally some pieces of aluminum foil. The first step is to mix the chicken soup, garlic powder, oil and black pepper in a container in order to prepare the seasoning. After that you need to start filleting chicken breasts in thin slices and marinate the chicken breasts in the seasoning you prepared before (leave the chicken breasts in the seasoning for fifteen minutes). While you have that going, start cutting squares of aluminum foil. Afterward put a chicken breast in a square of aluminum foil; then, put the cheese and the ham and roll it up (repeat this process until you finish the chicken breasts). Then, put the chicken rolls on a pan for approximately twenty minutes. Finally, all you need to do is to unroll the chicken rolls, serve them on a dish and enjoy them. This dish is quick easy and delicious for me.

SELF-ESTEEM

Self-esteem can be defined as the way people manage their thoughts, feelings, and opinions about themselves. Patterns of self-esteem start very early in life, and once people reach adulthood is harder to make changes of how they see and define themselves. For example, if people since childhood have experienced heartbreak, loneliness, depression, sadness, and verbal or physical aggression, they may eventually develop low self-esteem which will cause people become insecure and hesitate about their abilities. A different example of patterns of self-esteem would be if people since childhood have experienced love, understanding, support, success, and happiness, they may develop high self-esteem which is very acceptable in the right amount. Parents and caregivers also play an important role in the building of self-esteem; they can encourage children to follow this pattern try, fail, try again, fail again, and then finally succeed. Self-esteem is an overall opinion of oneself- how people feel about their abilities and limitations. Self-esteem is how people value themselves.
